We all recognize Lewis Hamilton as the most stylish driver in Formula 1, but now he's taking his fashion game to the next level by teaming up with Dior to create a custom capsule collection.
Known for his iconic off-duty style, Hamilton has already gathered some notches on his fashion belt, having previously co-designed an athleisure-inspired collection with Tommy Hilfiger in 2018.
As he says goodbye to Mercedes and gears up to join Ferrari next season, Hamilton is showing no signs of slowing down, on or off the track.
The seven-time World Champion had been struggling a bit on the leaderboards lately, but he is back on top. Fresh off his ninth victory at the British Grand Prix, his first win since 2022, Hamilton is giving his fans a double dose of excitement with his newest fashion endeavor.
His style moments have always been strong, like that time he pulled up to the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix in Bottega Veneta or when he became Valentino’s muse for the Autumn/Winter 2022 collection.
He has even attended the Met Gala in a suave Burberry ensemble, inviting emerging black designers to his table. It’s not often you see a Formula 1 driver gracing the Met Gala red carpet, but Hamilton is no ordinary driver.
For many, following along with Hamilton's street style moments is even more thrilling than watching the races themselves. His recent preference for Dior hinted at a blossoming relationship with the brand.
From the matching pullover and trousers at the 2024 Austrian Grand Prix to the ethereal, low-cut cardigan at the Monaco GP, his sartorial choices have sparked buzz and speculation.
Their curiosity was well-founded: it was all leading up to the major announcement that Hamilton is now Dior’s new ambassador and guest designer.
In collaboration with Kim Jones, Hamilton has created a lifestyle collection inspired by his African roots, visible in the natural materials and vibrant colors.
Set to release on October 17th, the collection merges Hamilton’s athleisure aesthetic with Dior’s timeless elegance, resulting in a line that looks less visually like traditional Dior and more streetwear-inspired.
Imagine classic Dior tweeds reimagined into more casual, relaxed suiting, and a stylized version of the brand’s logo on the yellow and grey backpacks — Hamilton’s touch is evident.
What can we expect from this highly anticipated collection? For starters, it has a sporty theme, but not the kind you would expect.
Surprisingly, you won’t find any driving references here, but rather another passion of the champion: winter sports. The collection features cozy beanies, puffer vests, and colorful fleece pullovers, all inspired by skiing and snowboarding.
While it channels mountain-ready vibes, streetwear enthusiasts will undoubtedly adopt these pieces for city life as well.
The B44 sneaker finds a new silhouette in this collection, becoming chunkier and more retro, while the Derby Dior is extremely adaptable, made for both the city and the slopes.
Hamilton's looks frequently reference athleisure, and these pieces are designed to be both fashionable and functional. They're infused with Hamilton’s unique style, making them ideal for those who appreciate streetwear-focused, wearable designs that still retain Dior’s signature elegance and meticulous craftsmanship.
Hamilton’s foray into fashion feels like a natural progression for a man who has cultivated such a curated image. His ability to blend high fashion with streetwear is a testament to his keen fashion sense and the growing intersection between fashion and sport.
Today, success hinges as much on building a brand off the track as it does on dominating behind the wheel. This collection is more than just clothes; it's about making a statement, growing his portfolio, and pushing boundaries.
Hamilton’s Dior collection achieves this by merging the familiar with the unexpected, resonating deeply with fashion enthusiasts. It encapsulates his unique style, blending traditional elegance with a modern, sporty twist, and showcases his vision for the future of fashion.
As we anticipate the release of this highly awaited collection, it’s clear that Hamilton’s influence extends beyond the racetrack. Whether he continues to dominate the world of motorsports or fully transitions into fashion, one thing is certain: Lewis Hamilton will always capture our attention, both on and off the track.
Is this just the beginning of Hamilton’s fashion empire? Only time will tell. He can’t race forever, and who knows, maybe he’ll end up shifting gears into fashion full-time.
Considering his recent win and upcoming move to Ferrari, though, it looks like he’s not going anywhere for a while. That doesn’t mean we can’t still delight in his outfit choices or expect more fashion collaborations.
We are sure Lewis Hamilton enjoying his well earned success, both on the track and in the fashion world. After all, it doesn't get much better than collaborating with Dior!
